Jessica & Alex were married at the InterContinental Chicago O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Ill. I started the day at the hotel with Jess and the girls while they finished getting ready upstairs.
My friend and fellow photojournalist Candice Cusic helped me out again, starting with Alex and the guys getting ready.
After a quick group first look in the hotel lobby, we loaded into the trolley to head to Chicago Botanic Garden for portraits. It took some patience, but we did find some great locations away from the crowds.
After portraits, it was ceremony time. Candice captured some great emotion on Jessica’s face during the vows. The reception kicked off with some beautiful toasts and a really sweet first dance. The pace picked up quickly though, as friends and family lifted the bride and groom on chairs during the Hora – always exciting! I think the parents and grandparents danced as hard or harder than some of the 20-year-olds all night!
Jess and Alex also used The Photobooth as a guestbook with some creative whiteboards. They also win the award for this year’s most creative photobooth prop, with a scanned photocopy of Alex’s beard on a stick. Also, check out the amazing hand-made background they put together!
