I met Andrea & Andrew at Hopcat, a great beer bar in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, to start their engagement session. Right away the bright red chairs inspired me to be on the lookout for more colorful fall Chicago engagement photos. I always love trying to work Chicago’s bright and vibrant colors into my photos but fall colors make that task a bit easier. (Thanks to the Hopcat manager that came over to say congratulations and paid for the couple’s drinks!)
We left Hopcat we walked down the street to Lincoln Park and found a few patches with leaves changing colors. We continued our walk out to the new Fullerton Ave. Beach area. I haven’t shot out there since they expanded the shoreline and it’s like a totally new spot. With great lake and skyline views it’ll definitely be on my list of places to head back to.
After an outfit changed we jumped in a car to head downtown near the river where we met my assistant, Amanda at Kinzie Street Bridge.
As the sun was setting and the sky was turning a beautiful shade of purple we wrapped up our session at another new spot, the riverfront park outside Gibson’s Italia. This brand new development has stunning views down the Chicago River and the city lights at dusk were a perfect way to finish up our colorful Chicago engagement session.
