Home / Wedding Venues / Chicago / Bridgeport Art Center

Comprised of both the Skyline Loft and the outdoor Sculpture Garden, Bridgeport Art Center is actually two unique amazing industrial loft wedding venues in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood.

You'll find the Skyline Loft on the top floor of this historic 1911 building. With panoramic views of the Chicago skyline and an incredible 120ft sky light that runs the length of the space, it's one of the most dramatic loft style wedding venues in Chicago.

On the ground floor, the Sculpture Garden beautiful outdoor space for ceremonies with a partially covered courtyard. Guests can easily move between indoor and outdoor spaces through floor-to-ceiling french doors. Both spaces feature exposed brick, timber beams, wood floors and 15ft+ ceiling heights.

Each space in the venue can accommodate sit-down dinners for more than 500 people while also being easily adaptable for ceremonies or receptions with as few as 100 guests. Stephanie (Kehoe Designs) and Megan (Revel Decor) can totally transform the space visually with fabrics, florals and furniture. Whatever theme you imagine, these full production teams can make it happen.

Guests are sure to love the ride up to the Skyline Loft space in the large freight elevator, complete with chandelier and refreshments. Contact Kate and the team at VenueLogic for more details!

Rental costs for Bridgeport Art Center (event space only) range from $5,500 to $9,500, depending on dates, season and guest count. Moveable bars, wooden chairs and tables are included.

The venue has an extensive list of off-site catering options. Click Here to view the full PDF list of catering options and exclusive production and rental companies.

Guests may park in the lot to the North of the building of N. Racine Ave. Use of this huge 390+ car lot and is included with rentals.

Vendors may also use the lot and there is a loading dock and freight elevator access from the entrance on the north side of the building.

Bridgeport Art Center is in a bit of industrial area, and there isn't much in the immediate vicinity.

My suggestion is to get ready downtown and stop at one or two locations before traveling south to the Venue. Grant Park, Adler Planetarium, Museum Campus and Ping Tom Memorial Park are all convenient options that are on the way.

There's also a handful of indoor and covered options that can work in a pinch - I've made portraits inside the elevator in the Skyline Loft, the loading dock area, even the lobby before guests start arriving.

WHY WE LOVE IT

Exposed brick & timber loft spaces are our favorite – and this might just be the best in Chicago. The huge skylight in the Skyline Loft that runs the whole length of the aisle provides awesome natural light, and there's nothing better than a perfectly timed first dance for "blue hour." Outdoor ceremony spaces are rare in Chicago, and the Sculpture Garden’s covered patio is a great option for cooler fall weather. I've shot more Bridgeport Art Center weddings than any other venue and it continues to be at the top of my list for best Chicago wedding venues.
Pro Tip: Make sure to schedule a first look and some time for portraits downtown before we head to the venue. Bridgeport Art Center itself is beautiful, but there's not a lot of options for outdoor portraits in the immediate area. On the plus side, there's endless options indoors for portraits if we're getting rain!
