Heather & Rob were married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Chicago. Heather’s grandparents were actually married at the same church, how cool is that!
Once again, Justin Edmonds was with me for the day. Justin started with Rob and his guys, while I started with Heather and the girls getting ready. The rain threatened all day, but slowed down just enough for Heather and Rob to see each other for the first time downstairs in front of the door to their building. The ceremony was beautiful, I loved the look on Heather’s father just before walking down the aisle.
After the ceremony, we headed outside the church to make a few portraits before going to Welles Park for some more portraiture. I love the green wrought-iron gazebo, it feels very European. From there, we walked to Fork Restaurant, which made for a great, cozy reception venue. Everybody gathered around for a round of toasts that were some of the funniest I’ve heard. I’m still entirely sure about the Mr. T inside joke, but everybody holding up the masks made for a pretty funny photo. I always love live bands, and it really worked in the space at Fork Restaurant. I loved the first dances and the smaller space meant everybody danced together until the very end.
Justin and I had a great time documenting the day and hanging out with Heather and Rob and their families. Such a fun group!
