Jennifer and Jeremy’s Olive Park engagement session technically started at Navy Pier. We met at Harry Caray’s Tavern for a drink before we started shooting. I always love to catch up with my couples for a bit and it’s a great way to relax before we get going.
We were able to pack a little bit of everything into the shoot. We started with a walk along Oak Street beach. From there we headed over to Milton Lee Olive Park which I think is still one of the city’s best kept secrets. The trees still had some nice fall color and we got great some nice golden hour light. The sun kissed the Hancock building at just the right time for the classic skyline shot from the platform that overhangs the lake.
After an outfit change, we headed back to Navy Pier for some nighttime photos. Shooting after sunset requires a little more technical work with the lighting, but the results are totally worth it. The final frame from the shoot was a bit of a random location, but I loved how the lights from the cars coming down Illinois street looked.
We got some great moments Jennifer and Jeremy, looking forward to the wedding already!
