My 2016 wedding season kicked off with Kate and Dan’s celebration at North Pond Restaurant in Lincoln Park.
Kate’s sister, Karin, hosted the morning prep activities at her family’s beautiful home (which was only a few blocks walk away from my place!) While the ladies were getting ready on the Northside, Dan and his crew were hanging out at the Residence Inn Downtown, where Lauren M. Anderson started her day with Dan.
Once everyone arrived at North Pond, we started with some family groups and moved on to portraiture with just Kate and Dan. When it comes to wedding photo locations in Chicago, Lincoln Park never gets old!
The venue was the perfect size for the intimate ceremony that Kate and Dan had planned. Their friends helped them out with the officiant and music, and they all did a great job.
Just before the reception started, we borrowed Kate & Dan for one more portrait on the patio in front of the restaurant. With that sunset and skyline we had to. After toasts and dinner we moved back into the front room for dancing. Kate & Dan looked quite polished on the dance floor, I think they’ve been practicing! I have to say, I saw some moves on the dance floor that I don’t think I have ever before. Grandma’s wheelchair spin on a single wheel was truly impressive!
Thanks Kate & Dan for sharing your wedding day with us, we had such a great time finding all these moments!
