Anytime I work with a couple living outside the Chicago area I always like to suggest a destination engagement session in their neck of the woods. So when Brianne and Jon flew me to Boston for engagement photos in downtown Lynn I was eager to find some new shooting locations.
Whenever I’m flying in for a destination engagement session I try to give us an extra shooting day (in case of bad weather). In our case, we had great weather so we spread our time out over both days. We started with a walk through downtown Lynn where we found some great murals and gorgeous golden hour light. We made our way to the coast as the sun set where Jon’s best woman, Lauren, met us to assist with lighting. Thanks Lauren! The view from Red Rock Park with the Boston skyline in the background was a perfect place to finish day one.
The next afternoon, we started in Brianne and Jon’s home where we hung out with their dog, Layla, and cat, Cleo. I don’t shoot in-home engagement sessions very often, but their cozy living room worked well. Finally, we finished at one of their favorite relaxing spots, Spalenza at the Mansion. It was like a mini park with a gorgeous hillside lake view.
I’m looking forward to seeing Brianne & Jon for their Northwest Indiana wedding next month. Thanks again for hanging out and being cute for two days!
