Carna and Don’s Lombard Westin Hotel wedding was amazing and so much fun! The hotel provided not only a great location for the ceremony and reception, but also had great rooms for getting ready with beautiful window light. When it comes to getting the best “getting ready” photos, that’s a huge factor. I had a great time hanging out with Carna and the ladies while Justin was with Don and the guys.
Once Carna and Don finished getting ready, we headed down a little trail behind the hotel for a first look. After a rainy engagement session at Buckingham Fountain, I was very happy we got a beautiful day with blue skies for the wedding.
We took a short drive down the road for wedding photos at Morton Arboretum. The tall pine trees and wooden bridge were both great locations on the west side of the park. I’ve shot at the Arboretum several times now, and we always find some place new to make pictures.
We arrived back at the hotel with plenty of time for the family group photos before the ceremony. Carna’s brother, Stuart, officiated and did a really wonderful job keeping everyone smiling and laughing throughout. After an incredible room flip (I’m always amazed how fast they are), it was time for the reception.
Toasts started with the Best Man and Maid of Honor each giving a speech before Carna’s parents’ had a chance to say something. When dinner wrapped up, Carna and Don shared their first dance. I loved the marquee lights with their names! Carna then danced with her father and Don with his mother before the dance party kicked off. Ron Bedal Orchestra played both the ceremony and rocked the reception!
Justin and I had a great time at Carna and Don’s Lombard Westin Hotel wedding and making wedding photos at Morton Arboretum. Thanks for letting us sharing the story of your day!
