I thought I’d take a small break from editing my final wedding of the 2018 season to put together a “best of the year.” I usually compile photos for end of the year contests and to update my portfolio, so why not share them!
2018 was my busiest year yet as a Chicago wedding photojournalist and I’m always grateful to the couples that ask us to photograph their day. The longer I do this, the more I realize that it’s all about our couples and it’s the privilege of a lifetime to document their day.
This year, I personally shot about 75,000 photos during 24 weddings, of which couples, received almost 6,000. (Technically, they got about double that because we always have two photographers). From those 6,000 or so photos, I’ve narrowed it down to the 50 photos below. So while it only represents about 0.00067% of the photos I made this year, I think you’ll get a sense of the kind of pictures we try and make every weekend for our couples. In a word – moments! Or, if you give me a few more – technically exceptional, clean, well-composed, vibrant, bold, storytelling moments!
