As much as I love being a wedding photographer in Chicago, it can be refreshing to get a chance to shoot outside of the city. I love the opportunity to break out of some of the most common downtown locations and make pictures in different spots.
One of my usual recommendations when it comes to engagement session locations is to pick someplace that is meaningful to the two of you as a couple. So I was happy when Allison & James suggested Rosewood Beach in Highland Park. It was actually where James proposed.
We started in the woods to take advantage of the beautiful fall color. About halfway through we were joined by Allison’s sister with the couple’s dogs – Kingsley and Daphne. Then we headed back to the car for a quick change and a walk along the beach. It was a little blustery and windy, but Allison and James totally went with it and had fun.
