Erin & Michael were married at Lincolnshire Marriott Resort. Winter weddings are always a treat as I’m often stuck inside during these months so it was great to be able to get in one more wedding before the seasonal break. You never know what the weather will look like in January in Illinois, but thankfully we got lucky with reasonable temperatures and a little bit of snow on the ground to make it feel like a winter wedding.
I started the morning with Erin and the ladies getting ready. It was happening place with so many bridesmaids! It was a reunion of sorts as Jessica was a bridesmaid – thanks for the referral Jess! Justin spent the morning with Michael and the guys who looked they had a lot of fun!
Once Erin and Michael were ready, we brought them outside the front entrance of the resort for a first look. I’m not completely sure what the inside joke of the ketchup was, but it made for a good laugh. From there, we did a little walk around the property for some portraits. Thankfully the snow provided just enough to let us know it was there without making it tough to shoot through.
Rabbi Michael Zedek did a fantastic job officiating the ceremony. I especially loved him pointing out the names of the parents and grandparents sewn into the underside of the chuppah.
During dinner we heard from all of the parents and several groomsman and bridesmaids. I especially loved the musical performance by Michael’s sister, Laura. Of course Erin and Michael were lifted up during the hora, which is always a highlight. And Michael’s words to Erin were maybe the best thing I’ve heard from a groom to a bride ever. The night finished with a great dance party thanks to TVK Orchestra.
