Sarah and Haley were married at The Langham Hotel in downtown Chicago. They were one of the first weddings I had postponed during the pandemic and one of the final reschedules on my 2022 calendar – so I was very excited to finally be able to capture their wedding and share these photos!
The morning started with each of the brides getting ready in suites at The Langham (one of the top rated hotels in the world!). After makeup, hair were finished and the dresses were on, the brides had their first look in the plaza right outside the hotel. The Langham’s location is perfect for a walking tour of some of the best portrait locations in downtown Chicago. We were able to shoot along the Riverwalk, Michigan Ave. and even the iconic Wabash Ave. bridge – all without needing any additional transportation!
After portraits with the couple and wedding party we headed back to the hotel for the Ketubah signing and ceremony. The ceremony setting was both simple and elegent and Rabbi Evan Moffic did a marvelous job officiating as always.
The Langham staff transformed the ballroom for the reception with incredible efficiency and I couldn’t believe we were even in the same space. The reception kicked off with Sarah and Haley’s first dance. That led into some terrific toasts by the parents and a really sweet surprise toast from the flower girl. A pair of toasts by Haley’s maid of honor, Ellie, and Sarah’s brothers, Jack and Tom (featuring emojis!) capped the dinner portion. Haley and Sarah each danced with their fathers before The Hora – always a favorite to photograph. The Chicago Catz kept the dance floor packed all night.
Thank you so much Sarah and Haley for asking us to document your day!
