Rachel and Adam were married at Carnivale Restaurant near Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood.
I started with Rachel at Westin River North Hotel with the ladies getting ready. Justin started with Adam and the guys while they got ready at Carnivale. We had just enough time for a quick first look before the ceremony.
Carnivale is an explosion of color, which for photographers is always fun! Rachel’s entrance down the grand staircase was pretty epic. I think it’s also really special when weddings bring an entire family together, and I loved how they integrated the sand ceremony.
After the ceremony, we were able to explore the space for portrait opportunities. I think the neon motel sign on the colored wall was my favorite.
The reception opened with toasts by Rachel & Adam’s mothers, Rachel’s friend, Adam’s son and another friend. After dinner, the party shifted to the dance floor. The red lanterns hanging from the ceiling made a great background for the first dances. It was really cute to see Adam’s mom let his daughter cut in during the parent dance. The night finished with more than a little dancing.
Justin and I had a great time shooting Carnivale wedding photos. We really enjoyed the day and it was a pleasure working with everyone!
