I shoot a lot of Bridgeport Art Center weddings and Skyline Loft wedding photos. With two separate spaces (The Sculpture Garden and the Skyline Loft) it’s one of the most popular venues in the city. I love how the Skyline Loft space can change with the light throughout the day.
David & Emmet started their wedding day getting ready at Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile with their best women, Adele and Mairead. With the two of them getting ready together, Justin and I started together with them.
We walked down Michigan Ave. to the little park area on the Chicago River between Rush and Wabash. There’s so many good portrait options in that area it’s one of my favorite downtown spots. From there we headed to the Kinzie Street Bridge near the West Loop for a few more portraits before getting to the venue.
David & Emmet’s friend Scott officiated and did an amazing job. I am loving the trend of having friends and family officiate – they can always tell real stories and make things a little more personal. As always Skyline Loft looked great and the sun peaking the skylights made for a couple of really great frames.
After the ceremony, everyone gathered around for a sing-along of “Mack the Knife,” which is apparently a tradition on Emmet’s side of the family.
Mairead and Adele’s toasts were really sweet and a great start to the reception. David and Emmet couldn’t have had better timing for their first dance. The blue light coming through the windows and the city in the background – perfect! David and Emmet then shared dances with their moms and even mixed things up by switching moms halfway through. The dance party definitely didn’t disappoint. I can’t wait to shoot more Bridgeport Art Center Skyline Loft wedding photos.
Justin and I had a great time documenting your wedding day. Thanks again, David & Emmet!
