Allison and James were married at Fishermen’s Inn in Elburn, Illinois.
I started the morning with Allison and her bridesmaids doing hair & makeup at the Hampton Inn in Aurora. Justin started with James and the guys at the venue. Allison finished getting ready at the venue as well. I loved when she came down the staircase for a first reveal with her bridesmaids.
Once everyone was finished getting ready we did a first look on the property out by the pond. James was so excited and emotional – such a great moment! We shot a handful of portraits with Allison and James and did all the wedding party portraits before the ceremony.
The ceremony was officiated by Allison’s cousin, Lisa, and she did a beautiful job. There were lots of laughs, a few tears and the vows were really sweet.
After the ceremony and family group photos we headed upstairs for dinner. The space was beautiful and a great place to make pictures. I love market lights. After toasts from Allison’s mother then Brittany, Allison’s sister and David, James’ Best Man, it was time to move to the loft space for dancing.
Allison & James kicked things off with their first dance, then James and his mother shared a dance before the floor opened for everyone. A candy bar and, later, Spud Bar kept guests well fed. The highlight of the evening was the sparkler send off. We get to do a lot of these in Colorado, but we don’t see many sparkler exits here in Illinois.
Thanks again to Allison & James for being such a joy to work with both for engagement photos, the wedding and throughout the entire planning process. Justin and I had an amazing time with you and your families. Thanks again for trusting us to document your love!
