Dara and Seth were married at one of Chicago’s newest loft-style wedding venues – Sarabande.
I started the morning with Dara and her bridesmaids downtown at Hyatt Centric Magnificent Mile and Justin started with Seth and the groomsmen at the same hotel.
Once everyone was finished getting ready we headed downstairs for a first look around the corner. From there, we boarded a trolley for some portrait time. Our first portrait spot was outside the Wrigley building and Michigan Avenue. We then made a quick stop at the Chicago Theatre. It was busy so it was in and out with just Dara and Seth before heading back north to Lincoln Park South Pond. Seth surprised Dara by getting a custom message on the board outside of the Weiner Circle and we made a photo there. And we were still good on time so we made a final stop outside Wrigley Field.
Once we got the venue the couple signed the Ketubah and had the badeken – where Seth places the veil over Dara before walking down the aisle. The ceremony space at Sarabande is beautiful with classic Chicago Bow Truss architecture and lots of modern wood accents.
After the ceremony we shot our family group photos during the cocktail hour and the room was flipped for the reception. After introductions, the reception started with a cake cutting then blessings over the challah and wine. We heard from the parents, several in the wedding party plus the couple.
Then it was time to dance. After about a minute of a traditional first dance, Dara and Seth broke into a choreographed routine set to popular movie songs that the guests loved. Dara danced with her brother and Seth danced with his mom before the dance floor opened with the Hora.
It was so great working with Dara, Seth and their families. It can be a challenge to work with a large wedding party, but Jordan and Nicolette kept everything on track which was super appreciated! Thanks so much for letting us document your day – we loved every minute.
