Zoe and Justin’s City View Loft Wedding was the perfect way to kick off the 2018 wedding season for me. These guys were nothing but smiles and I can’t believe how fast the day went.
I met Zoe and her bridesmaids at Goldplaited Salon in the Lakeview neighborhood. With their hair and makeup done, we headed to Hotel Palomar to finish getting ready and put on dresses.
My second photographer Justin Edmonds was with the groom Justin and his guys at the hotel as well. And yes, I kept calling “Justin” all day and getting them both to turn around.
We used the Hotel’s roof deck for a first look and Justin’s reaction was so perfect. Once we assembled the wedding party downstairs, we hit three of Chicago’s best wedding photo portrait locations, starting with LaSalle Street Bridge. We also stopped at North Avenue Beach and the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pond in Lincoln Park.
Church of Our Savior was a perfect spot for the mixed-faith ceremony. We even made a few portraits in front of the stained glass in the balcony before guests arrived. Zoe’s Godmother walked her down the aisle (and also read a beautiful toast on behalf of Zoe’s dad).
After the ceremony we had one more portrait stop in front of a West Loop mural before arriving at City View Loft for the reception. City View Loft weddings have to have some of the best skyline views in the city so I was glad we were able to frame the full city in the background during a few of the toasts.
The dance floor opened with Zoe and Justin’s first dance and Rachel and Kate from Toast & Jam provided the beats for a rocking party.
Zoe and Justin – thanks for such an awesome start to my 2018 wedding season, we had a great day with you! Can’t wait for another City View Loft Wedding.
