Jessica and Jared were married at Bridgeport Art Center in the outdoor Sculpture Garden. I’ve shot more weddings at Bridgeport Art Center than any other Chicago wedding venue and it never gets old!
I had a great time hanging out with Jessica and the ladies while they got ready at the Sheraton Grand Hotel downtown. It was a busy morning with a large wedding party but the large suite meant we weren’t crammed for space. I think my favorite moment of the morning was when Jessica climbed up to get her dress down and squealed with excitement!
Justin spent the morning with Jared and the guys a few floors below. Jessica sent a gift package to him that included an impressive scrapbook of mementos from all of their dates and trips together. It was a really sweet to how moved Jared was as he looked through it.
Once everyone was dressed and ready we met just downstairs for a first look with the Chicago River in the background. Our portrait locations included some of the most iconic Chicago spots such as LaSalle Street Bridge, the Board of Trade Building and Museum Campus for the skyline view.
From there we rode the bus down to Bridgeport Art Center for the ceremony and reception. Jessica’s mother, Myra, put together a beautiful wooden chuppah for the ceremony that looked perfect in the outdoor Sculpture Garden space. Their friend Chris did a great job officiating and everyone cheered as Jared broke the glass at the end.
The reception kicked off with a ton of energy as Jessica and Jared entered the space after the wedding party was introduced. We heard some great toasts from parents and friends before it was time to dance. Dueling piano band Howl2Go provided the music – with a special performance near the end of the night, as one of the groomsmen sat in for a few songs on the keys – definitely a highlight!
Thanks so much to Jessica and Jared for letting us be part of your day. It was an honor and joy to document so many great moments!
